non-specifically. Deficiencies are most likely to occur in the elderly and in people who
have a history of alcohol abuse. These bruises result from microscopic tears in blood vessels under the skin.

I like Ashampoo products, and would like to use this one, but when I try to click on Request Free full version key, nothing happens. First time I have ever had problems with activating any Ashampoo product. Most of which I have lost since my computer crashed. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

This is a nice program. works well and has good support. There are others that are better but more expensive.

Giovanni, I love you, but going to Mr. Softie for free stuff? I would rather send a few bucks to some small company that has a decent product than get something free from Mr. Softie. Free Softie is just another way for them to get their claws deeper into us.

This is my opinion, and it is very true. :)

downloaded and installed on windows 7 64-bit without problem. registered fine. trying to produce a short slideshow using 4 mp3s as background, with different times. each mp3 longer than 2 minutes cuts out before finishing, leaving me with silence. is there a time limit? don't find it saying that anywhere. the prompter continues to play, just no sound. also doesn't matter how many time I loop it, always cuts out to dead silence.

I do appreciate Ashampoo's software and their continual attempts to upgrade or fix any issues. I did inquire about the idea of using less frequent emails providing more information instead of a steady stream of 'InBox abuse.'

Thanks as always GOTD

WinXP sp 3 installed and registered ok .

My gripe with ashampoo is they insist you make an account with them and a password . What they dont seem to realise is Windows is a useless operating system designed to fail but has the mass market lead, so the majority use it ( bit like the video wars , Phillips was the best but VHS won ) .

When windows breaks , which it will ( not I dont say if ) , then when you want to reinstall your software , Ashampoo wont register it , because it thinks and even gives a libelous nag screen , that you are using their prog on more than one computer. Or if there is another free offer , when you have previously had an earlier version , which you lost, then you cannot use the same email addy.

The solution to this problem , is open up a new email address , every time you download an ashampoo product. Not everyone wants or has the time to do this , likewise to remember your password, to get into your account, to be able to get the new reg key.

Together with their spam email, their business model appears to be to design some great products and then do your best to aggravate your customers and put them through as many hoops as possible. I hope Ashampoo read this and rethink their business model.

I would also like to add "Ashampoo" has constantly offered top notch programs for use. Email notifications are easy to put an end to. Nice thing about their software, you pretty much know, getting it from the source, you're not going to have to worry about infections or unknown additions! Today's download works like a charm and every bit worth the price of FREE

I have an XP & Windows 8. The XP has no audio so it won't load and after several emails I still haven't got an email back. So much for Give Away of the DAY what's point if I don't get prompt reply ?

Plus why do I NEED audio for a visual program ?

Ashampoo are too aggressive with their marketing, and what really annoys me is that you have to be very careful when installing, open the download first, and uncheck the toolbar option, then look for an additional program that is essentially spyware if left then no end of emails will barrage you even if you unsubscribe.

Usually decent software do they not realise that these tactics have the reverse effect? and just alienate their customers rather than the opposite

@#36 XP-man: Windows MovieMaker is, I believe, the first and still the best of the slide-show makers. It is "the one to beat." As you point out, it is somewhat difficult to use when starting, but once you get the hang of it, it offers the most intricate and precise control over and co-operation between images, transitions and sounds. I keep looking and hoping for a newer program that incorporates all the features of WMM and improves on them, but so far I've found none that has done so, or has even come close.

Thanks to Ashampoo + GOTD.
Easily installed and activated.

Ashampoo is exceptionally generous in their software giveaways and only the seasoned GOTD users would notice the difference.

No issue with giving Ashampoo an email to keep in contact with.

Not bothered at all if Ashampoo sends product emails. Just delete if you do not wish to read.

They recognise my email and I get the serial key instantly without fuss.
They do keep a file of all your Ashampoo installed software and the serial keys; in case you lose any of them.

Typical Ashampoo, they make the installation about the easiest. I've tried a few of the slideshow programs given away here recently. Gs photoshow, 3D page flip, photo slide show professional etc, just to name a few. This one is so far the best. The picture change animations are mesmerizing and quite artistic. I use this type of software, when I have friends around and I turn on the Tv and play a long slide show to give ppl something to look at so they keep their traps shut.
I'm quite impressed with this one.

@25 – The free and cheap software is fine for home or presentation slideshows but they lack the control and output quality of specialized rostrum software. $100+ is not unheard of when you are doing production work. That’s cheaper that a real rostrum setup. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rostrum_camera the best “pan & zoom” software I’ve ever used is Digirostrum. That costs $430.60 US, but it’s worth it if you need to do professional quality work. http://cleverplugs.com/digirostrum/

@ Giovanni, post # 31: I've raised this twice before so will keep it brief. . .

Evidently, you haven't seen my earlier responses to your repeated recommendations of Microsoft PhotoStory 3 otherwise you'd hardly carry on commending it here in such misleading fashion.

Just to recap then: Photostory 3 is wonderful. I use it all the time. But it has taken me (and fellow users around the world) not minutes, not hours, not days, not months but YEARS to tame this free software in such a way that it will do what we want in 2013 as distinct from what PS3's developer wanted. . . in 2002.

That's because Microsoft Photostory 3 is OLD. That's because Microsoft Photostory 3 is OBSOLETE. That's because Microsoft Photostory 3 was created for displaying slideshows on rectangular cathode ray computer monitors and rectangular cathode ray televisions, not widescreen LCDs. That's because Microsoft Photostory 3 was developed before the home DVD player was even invented.

So-oo. . . Microsoft PhotStory 3 does not natively record to DVD. Does not natively play on a widescreen TV. Does not natively handle 16:9 widescreen images. Is actually of not the slightest use to someone who wants a fast, fuss-free way of creating a slideshow that can instantly be burned to DVD (and then shown on a widescreen TV.

Repeatedly recommending PhotoStory 3 to GOTD users without forewarning them that they MUST learn about codecs; about output transcoding; about image 'contortion' pre-prep; about computer memory optimization (because PS3 eats memory); about playback anti-skip / anti-jitter technique, and about how to utilise the highly specialised playback resolution "profiles" from the legendary 'Papa John' really is less than helpful.

I am an enthusiastic Photostory 3 user and wouldn't use anything else but (a) I've worked with it since 2003 and (b) I run it on an XP laptop and a Vista desktop: I've no idea if it works with Windows 7 (and would very much doubt it had any chance at all of functioning on Windows 8.)

Just my two penn'orth to try and set the record straight here in hope that no-one else will in future tout Photostory 3 as an instantly usable freeware alternative to contemporary widescreen DVD-ready slideshow software: it ain't.

As to today's Ashampoo offer: oh, gawd, puh-leeze. . . if people don't know how to protect themselves from spam then they really shouldn't be downloading any software to computers of which they're so obviously not in control and of whose operation they're so manifestly ignorant.

As I've pointed out almost every single time the tedious topic of Ashampoo marketing comes up on here, if you can't be bothered to devote a mere 30 seconds to server-side intervention -- as in: gmail / filter / do not send to spam / always delete -- then really, you'd be better off staying with a quill dipped in ink and a small sheet of parchment.

Damning Ashampoo for its email marketing is like damning the driver of a fast moving car into whose path you just stepped because you hadn't the sense to look left or right. Repeatedly complaining about Ashampoo every time its software appears on GOTD isn't just unfair to Ashampoo, it's grossly unfair to GOTD, too. . .

Many thanks, I was unaware that Microsoft’s Windows Movie Maker could make slideshows; tested it after reading your comment and found it really first class as audio can be tied to an image, but initially not the easiest program to use.
XP users, it is not available for download for you as it is installed at the same time as XP, SP2 is installed and it can be found on most computers as shown below.
"C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\moviemk.exe"
For those of you who have upgraded it is still available for download from Microsoft at the following link:-

Missing Giovanni very much! But

DVD Slideshow GUI available in English is free

http://en.kioskea.net/download/download-16012-dvd-slideshow-gui
or
http://dvdslideshowgui.softonic.de

Ashampoo Slideshow Studio 2013 (like Ashampoo Slideshow Studio 2012) seems to be a somehow stripped variant of HD 2 without HD pics and without upload-feature of slideshows to internet.

I am using several other Ashampoo products since years and in addition they are telling full details about their company's address etc:
https://www.ashampoo.com/en/usd/abs

I like that, too.

Ashampoo is an unrepentant SPAMMER:
o I used my real email address figuring they were a real company (and I would read their emails before deciding to stay or leave).
o I get 1-2 emails per day and have decided it is time to leave, but ...
o I can't UNSUBSCRIBE using their web interface--it is broken.
o So far they have not responded to my support request to fix the UNSUBSCRIBE web interface (but see BREAKING NEWS at end).
o All together, that makes them a SPAMMER.
o As a spammer, I report every email from Ashampoo to SPAMCOP.NET .

Regarding reader comments relative to Ashampoo spam:
o "Use a throw-away email address" are good for everyone new to Ashampoo--too late for me.
o "Build a filter to catch all Ashampoo email spam" are OK for tech-oriented guys/gals, but not for the average Joe/Jane Computer User. An email filter is a local, one-off solution that has to be applied infinite times across the internet (i.e., it doesn't happen); the global solution is for Ashampoo to play by the rules (and I don't want to increase my "attack surface" by dealing with rule-ignoring companies).
o I had not thought of changing my email address at Ashampoo to a fake/throw-away. A great idea for those already caught in the Ashampoo spam trap. Thanks for the comment(s) mentioning that technique!!!

To illustrate my sincere (and repeated over time) attempt to get off their list, here is an excerpt from my unanswered email to Ashampoo (but see BREAKING NEWS at end):
o Here's how I have TRIED (and failed) to UNSUBSCRIBE:
o I log into my account at Ashampoo, then go to:
MyAshampoo – Service Letter - Settings
o At that point I can not make any changes to the four rectangular
bars that indicate various levels of email desired.
(In my case the top two are blue and the bottom two are white.)
o If you want to "see" screen shots and fix the problem, I will gladly
help you improve the web interface function.
o I have tried this in both IE 8 and SeaMonkey browsers.

*** BREAKING NEWS: *** Just now I made a successful attempt to UNSUBSCRIBE. I got the same two screens as #30 "@1 Phil K" shared with us--thanks for inspiring me to try once more before sending this to everyone. (Before the Check Marks were not there and the boxes did not toggle/change when clicked.) ... So Ashampoo didn't respond via email to my support request, but they did fix the UNSUBSCRIBE web interface which has been broken for week(s). Yippee!!!

If Ashampoo emails start again (as some say they will), I will resume reporting their emails to SPAMCOP.NET (with a note that "they are spammers because their UNSUBSCRIBE web interface is broken and/or ignores my opt-out settings").

Fellows, Ashampoo and others provide free softwares not for charity, but for business. So, if they send us emails, we should accept that as a minor inconvenience, and not b**ch; OR just don't install.

I have been using Microsoft's Windows MovieMaker 2.6 and/or 6.0 to create slide shows because you can add a song or narration to each individual slide, and you can add multiple slides to any song. It offers fine control and micro-management. According to what I see in the comments above (#3 and #7), today's software cannot do this. So this is a no-go for me.

To all those annoyed by their e-mails:

You simply have to log in to your account and deactivate them in the Settings section, that's all, and they won't bother you again. This works for me for a few years now. Be aware however that you have to repeat this every time you register a new software, in other words, you'll be subscribed to their newsletters again with every registration, but you can easily cancel the subscription with a few clicks, as I wrote above. If you do this immediately after registration you probably won't see any mail at all (besides those with the registration codes).

Anyone who as been on the internet knows their in-box is like their home mail box on Saturday. You mark their emails as SPAM and move on. God forbid you get unwanted junk mail at home, much less on the net.
I like their products and don't care about the random junk/pestering email they send out. One of those emails just landed me a 6.00 upgrade to SNAP6 so as big a pain as they are, they do bring nice surprises sometimes.

I just did a fresh install of my system after switching from a 750gb hybrid drive to a 500gb SSD so I'm building my FREE software arsenal back up. However, this program isn't needed. I already use Picasa and Corel paint/photo and it fits my needs. Thanks Ashampoo and GOTO for the offer.

I LOVE Ashampoo products and I would certainly not miss an opportunity to get one free. Yes, they do send out a lot of emails, but being a paying customer with them already, I can't see that I will increase the amount of emails from Ashampoo - if I receive any I'm not interested in, there's a little box there that says "Delete" - really not that hard to hit it and guess what - the email has gone. I receive some really great offers from Ashampoo for their software and I have no complaints about any of their software that I have, be it bought or give away. Their after sales service is excellent as well.

Purchased Ashampoo Slideshow Studio HD 2 a couple of months back. The only thing I can say against it, is that there is no support for animated gif. Which is a problem across the board with slide show makers. There are the few exceptions tho.
The knocks against Ashampoo's Slideshow maker are simple & juvenile. Update your machines... Windows Photo story? Please BUY a new machine!
As for the spam, I have unsubscribed from many of their letters but they do offer some good deal. I love freeware as much as the next person but sometimes you have to spend a little cash to get some quality.
Over the past few months I've been testing a lot of Photo & Video Programs. Without promoting any one else. I'll say this... Stay away from Ashampoo Photo Optimizer & Commander (Poor Quality Output). If $5.99 is too much to spend on a Slide show maker. Then you can stick with the second & third rate software.
How ever, Ashampoo Slideshow Studio HD 2 is a very useful tool.

Very positive about Ashampoo Slideshow Studio HD 2 have used it for years. Did a lot of research on slideshow programs 3 y ago and this was the best based on results .. lots of controls, Ken Burns, music split for slides, adjustable timing.. sad I bought it for $20 but that was after I spent $100+ on another not as good! Not sure if slideshow 2013 is the same, but if it is it will be great for you use. Easy to use and will burn Blue-Ray, not that I use that but regular DVDs and multi formats burn or convert nicely, easily.

Phil K complains that AShampoo pester you with emails. Well, firstly that's the price for free software (which is fair enough by me) and secondly you can always create an email rule to send AShampoo to the Trash. I have lots of A Shampoo products and like them. Some I have bought after a free trial or a GAOTD.

@ XP-Man, "... like myself they have unsuccessfully unsubscribed on many occasions."

In that case: log in to your account at Ashampoo, change your mail address into a 33mail.com-address and after you are done, de-activate the 33mail-address the very first time Ashampoo mails you on that address.

I used this approach to help a friend to get rid of his Linked In account. He still has it, but will never see a mail of them again.

During the installation I decided to check the option to download an additional free product called 'Ashampoo Media Sync'. This too installed OK but click on the desktop icon and all I get is a messagebox:

'An unexpected error occurred. Please restart the program and ask the user support for further assistance.'

There is no log file created and nothing in the eventlog.
It would be nice to have at least a little bit of info to determine exactly where the problem may be.

Installed OK, run the program and I get a messagebox that says

'No audio device was found. Shutting down program.'

and the program terminates. I choose not to have audio on my computer, but I would like to create a slideshow.
Why is mandatory to have audio to create a visual product?
